DML Employee Spotlight : Liesl Behm

Today we’re spotlighting Liesl Behm: Commercial Lines Account Manager Superstar, musician and animal enthusiast!

DML- First of all, just want to say thank you, Liesl, for taking the time to do this with us. We know how busy you are!

LB- No problem! Happy to!

DML- We’ll jump right in. First, can you tell us a few things you have on your bucket list?

LB- I have always wanted to visit Greece, it just looks gorgeous. Maybe while I’m there I’ll check off another thing on my bucket list and be part of a reality TV show… I don’t what it would be about, but it sounds entertaining!

DML- We have some concept ideas centered around PNW Insurance Account Manager Superstars - Thoughts?

LB- That does sound interesting!

DML- Perfect! Okay, who is someone you admire and why?

LB- Jimmy Fallon is someone I admire. He’s hilarious, creative, and he seems to not take life too seriously. I think we could all work on finding the joy in things more often.

DML- Laughter is great medicine.  And what for you is the most inspiring part of your job?

LB- Getting to know our clients. We have some really great ones!

DML- We couldn’t agree more! Speaking about things you're passionate about, are there any causes that are especially important to you?

LB- I have two cats at home, Harvey & Milo, both 9 years old. I absolutely love them, and I have a soft spot for animals of all kinds. I appreciate organizations like Pawsitive Alliance that are committed to protecting and nurturing pets, and I’m so grateful for the work they do.

DML- Pawsitive Alliance is an incredible organization, we're also BIG fans! We'll include a link to their site at the end of this so folks can check out what they're doing in the world for our furry friends! So, then we may already know the answer to this next question, but can you humor us and complete this sentence? “In another life I’m pretty sure I was…”

LB- Ha! Yeah, I’m sure you can guess- probably a cat. There are a lot of similarities between us. Lots of naps, lots of snacks.

DML- That tracks! Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?

LB- I have played the piano since I was 4 years old and am very involved with music. Ask me about my favorite artist of the week, I’ll always have an answer for you. (Right now, it’s Kacey Musgraves!)

DML- Love her! Okay, we have our own thoughts on this, but how do you think your fellow DML team members would describe you?

LB- My coworkers know how important it is to me to get things done and get conflicts resolved. They’d probably say I’m passionate, empathetic, and even a bit “spicy” when the situation calls for it! I enjoy advocating for our clients when they need help resolving an issue with their insurance.

DML- We think that's pretty accurate! We'd just want to add a few more things like, how you inspire us daily with your drive and dedication, not just to your clients but also to your fellow team mates. And about your ability to bring in laughter and lightness just where it's needed- your "Fallon-ness" we could call it! And finally, at the risk of sounding cheesy, we'd describe you as someone everyone should want on their team. We know we're lucky to have you on ours. We appreciate you, Liesl!

DML- Okay, last question- What would be your personal motto?

LB- Whatever you do, do it 100%.
